What Happens When 20 Bloggers Head On The #CorkFashionTrail?
We have the best fun that’s what! 20 Bloggers were invited along on the inaugural #CorkFashionTrail, organised by Marie Barry-Murphy. A day of fun, fashion and food- I’m going to take you through my favourites!
The start of the day was hands down my favourite part. We met at Starbucks and were welcomed by Natasha, Opera Lane Stylist who took us through the Spring/Summer Collections. The decor was so well laid out with beautiful graphics and moodboards by Chapter. (I’m obsessed with their entire aesthetic go follow!)
Natasha took us through the leading S/S key trends- plenty of denim and prints! I’m fully on board with the bright fushia trousers that are so perfect for Spring- I am going to book in for the 2 hour Styling Service that is offers in Opera Lane. I think I need to introduce a bit of colour to my wardrobe!
Next stop was Olori Boutique, I had already visited the previous week so Iknew exactly what I wanted to see again! Owned by two gas sisters we were welcomed with mimosas, sprayed with the most divine perfume- they are the only stockist in Ireland of Alchimista. Truly divine perfume and aftershave! Who doesn’t want sparkly clogs for Summer?
From there we visited Miss Daisy Blue Vintage Shop for all things exquisite! An amazing store with such a beautiful location in the English Market, it has a sense of old school glamour and style that I just adore! I could get lost in their tea dresses and beaded handbags..
The Kendall and Kylie range at the Shoe Suite was quite impressive, certainly better than the Yeezy collections or anything that appeared in Dash Stores- the Jenner girls have designed a range of neutral shoes, pumps and boots. Perfect styles for both day and night. The black buckle heels were my favourite. The Shoe Suite has a pair of shoes for just about anyone- their stand out feature was a fitting room which can be booked with an in-house stylist. This genius idea is for those ladies and gents to bring their outfit in to match the shoes! Why is this not everywhere? With such a welcome and great atmosphere, I’ll certainly be stopping by again.
On to Savilles- The Ultimate Bespoke and Tailoring service for men in Cork. Our sharp suited guide took us on a tour of the incredible building that has created the finest quality suits for years. I was extremely interested in their patterns, designs and fabrics available, Harris Tweed anyone?
I was almost convinced I needed my own suit with their virtual designing service. Pick every single detail yourself from cotton colours to button holes. It’s certainly an experience- my pick was the hand painted shoe collection, stylish and colourful brogues for the fashionista in your life.
Pitstop perfection was Dukes Cafe, a cosy spot just off Paul Street full to the brim with tasty goodies and amazing coffee, just what we needed! I’d recommend the fruit cake and a flat white!
Our day was jam packed with fun and new and exciting people to follow. It was certainly nice to be in good company- not one person batted an eyelid whilst trying to achieve that perfect snap! Everyone encouraged Outfit posts and pointing out the best lighting- bloggers helping bloggers!
We wrapped the day in the Clayton Hotel, with a dangerous tequila cocktail, swapping stories and making more friends.
Thanks again for the great day Marie,
Stay tuned for ampost on the goodie bags!
